I just noticed the avatar. Thanks! Love it.

I'm not sure about "closure" -- I suppose the arrest helped a lot, but how do you really get over the loss of your child (on both sides)? It must be hell for both families. It's traumatized a lot of little kids, too. My friend's daughter still has nightmares.

Yes... I can only imagine the trauma. :(

And I too feel tears in court are are usually self-pity.

You can choose ANY pic you want for an avatar... change it yourself or PM me if you want help. But glad you like that one :)

I don't like leaving the default cat silhouette

There is a live feed for the sentencing hearing going on but I am not getting any sound. Might be their problem, might be mine.

Jessica Ridgeway case: Judge sentences Austin Sigg to life in prison plus several more decades
Posted: 11/19/2013
Deb Stanley

JEFFERSON COUNTY, Colo. - The judge sentenced Austin Sigg to life in prison plus 86 years and said the sentences should be served consecutively.

In court, the judge went through each count Sigg pleaded guilty to and announced a sentence.

Sigg confessed to kidnapping and killing Jessica Ridgeway and trying to kidnap a jogger at Ketner Lake.

Prosecutors asked the judge to sentence Austin Sigg to consecutive terms to guarantee he would die in prison, while defense attorneys wanted the judge to sentence their client to life in prison with the possibility of parole after 40 years.

I hope that Homeschool friend's daughter won't be afraid anymore now that evil has been locked away.

Ditto, Deb. Maybe some "closure" in that sense..... the evil is out of circulation at least.
