Porter's lawyers file motion to NOT TESTIFY in Sgt. Alicia White trial..

Quote:
In a motion filed Monday to quash a subpoena requiring him to appear as a witness at Goodson 's trial, Porter's attorneys say he plans to assert his rights under the state and federal constitutions to decline to testify. Porter also plans to decline to testify in the trial of Sgt. Alicia White.

Two of the trials of officers charged in Freddie Gray's death have been rescheduled.

Baltimore police Sgt. Alicia White's trial (once set for Jan. 25) is now set for Feb. 8, and Officer Garrett Miller's trial (earlier scheduled for Feb. 9) is set to begin March 7. The new dates were chosen by Judge Barry Williams in consultation with attorneys for all parties. The new trial dates will be formalized in an administrative court hearing Friday. The trial dates for Officer Edward Nero and Lt. Brian Rice remain unchanged, according to a statement from the court.

Goodson, White Attorneys Weigh In On Trial Delay
Thursday, January 14, 2016
Robert Lang, WBAL NewsRadio 1090

[....}
Meanwhile, the attorneys for the next officer that is supposed to go on trial, Sgt. Alicia White, have filed papers requesting a hearing, noting they were not present when Porter was ordered to testify. Prosecutors also want to put Porter on the stand in that case.

White's trial is set for February 8, but will likely be delayed while the Court of Special Appeals considers whether Porter should be forced to testify.
