Quote: Jett Black says:
December 16, 2015 at 4:34 pm A hung jury in a case with this range of lesser-included offenses available should be viewed as an acquittal. It’s almost the definition of reasonable doubt. My bet is that a minority, perhaps just one juror(s) wanted to convict of something on ideological grounds and the rest refused. |

I saw this interview live.... He was showing his own bias.. and for a so called "expert" he seemed as daft as the mob tweeting. He was "disappointed" because Porter wasn't convicted of "something"... as in to hell with the law he was there... the mob has decreed somebody has to be punished simply because Freddie is dead ( his own Fault IMO) As for "Hung jury likely means one ( red neck) juror would not go along with guilty"... THAT is showing his bias. IMO it is FAR more likely that ONE daft BLM activist type would not accept the evidence and so would NOT go along with not guilty... on every charge. |

IMO... A retrial is inherently UNFAIR on the defense. They have in effect (presumably) revealed their best arguments in defense. The prosecution can tailor their next attempt to negate that defense. It is IMO not far off "double jeopardy". A hung jury is PROOF that there is reasonable doubt... and the Judicial system is MEANT to give DEFENDANT ever benefit of that. INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY BEYOND REASONABLE DOUBT. If it is a truly hung jury unable to agree.. then there is Reasonable doubt... that is clear. IF it is some (1 or more) "stealth juror" with a bias to push.. then unless it raises to level of corruption.. perverting justice on the juror's part (in favor of the defendant).. then the defendant should get the benefit of not being found guilty beyond reasonable doubt. Case should be dismissed and not retried. |

LMAO! Wasn't it Baltimore where Z & Stacks were and Z got in a confrontation with Geraldo or CNN people, or both? LOL I dunno, I just remember them being in Baltimore AFTER the rioting, when all the protests were contained around City Hall. Not going to look back, don't care (thx) |

The "Jury pool" for next 5 trials (maybe 6) are seeing this reaction to no verdict and the implied threats of MORE if there is any verdict other than guilty of most serious charges, if not all charges. Most of that pool are seeing this. Many may well be actually effected personally by it. I would say that excludes all from the jury pool. A change of venue for all future trials is needed. |

If there is gonna be all the palaver when a perp injures himself in the back of a police van... in future make the bastards WALK to to the police station (in chains). |

Rumpole wrote: We need one of the SANE Jurors to snitch.... like to know what sort of nonsense went on in Jury room. It might help avoid repeating the same mistake when selecting the next jury panel. Unfortunately it is not likely to happen. The jurors identities are sealed and they haven’t leaked yet. My bet is that there was a BLM activist on the jury who never had any intention of listening to the evidence. If the holdout(s) were for acquittal you can bet the ranch that we would already know about it. Good on the defense team for seating some rational jurors, I’m sure with an activist judge it was not an easy task. That chucklehead "expert" upthread who stated that a mistrial means that a juror or two would not vote to convict is a filthy liar, no one knows yet how the jury broke down. |

As bad as Juries are.... I think the system is preferable to "Bench Trials" In this case which judge would you select? Black? White? Hispanic? An Arab perhaps? Would this be an elected judge? An appointee? Appointed by whom? The BLM mob would likely not settle for anything less than a black activist (racist)... lets appoint one..something like Sunny Hostin? Benjamin Crump? NastyJack? |

LOL, who is Nasty Jack? I do not know how they can decide so quickly to prosecute a second trial without knowing the breakdown of the jury deadlock results. What if it was 11-1 for acquittal? This is the fastest retrial hearing I have ever heard of. |

I'll take 10 to 2 for acquittal $1000.00 Alex And who is that nutty Dapper Beamer ? We've had nutty agenda driven Leftist PBTB of all sorts appointing nutty agenda driven Leftist to the bench for years. Just imagine if Mosby's puppet ideologue judge got to decide Porters fate all on his own It would have been game over faster than you could say "Object" ! |
