Ferguson police chief urges public to help solve slaying of 9-year-old



FERGUSON • Ferguson Police Chief Andre Anderson appealed to the public on Friday for help in solving the shooting of 9-year-old Jamyla Bolden, who was killed as she was doing homework in her home in the 9200 block of Ellison Drive on Tuesday evening.

Anderson said the community has been supportive and has provided numerous leads in the case. He feels confident that the case will be solved with the help of the community.

A reward up to $5,000 is being offered by CrimeStoppers to anyone who supplies information that leads to an arrest of the person or persons responsible for Jamyla's killing. The Fraternal Order of Police, St. Louis County Lodge 15 added $1,000.

Anyone with information is asked to call CrimeStoppers at 866-371-8477. All calls to that line are anonymous.
