In my opinion.... the reason Holder's Ferguson report speaks in terms of percentages is because it is so easy to mislead with. Three is 75% of four. So if there were four incidents total out of thousands of law enforcement encounters holder can still say 75% of these incidents involved blacks.

Prosecutors Mull Charges In Brown Family Attack
Late teen's kin could face arrest for ransacking of t-shirt stand

MARCH 4--Prosecutors are now considering criminal charges against members of Michael Brown’s family in connection with a violent confrontation over the sale of merchandise commemorating the late teenager, who was shot to death last year by a police officer.

The St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney recently received the results of a months-long investigation by Ferguson Police Department detectives who probed the October 18 beating and robbery of t-shirt vendors, one of whom was hospitalized following the assault.

A prosecutor’s spokesperson told TSG that lawyers are now reviewing material forwarded by police, a package that addresses charges that could be filed against the suspects.

The decision on whether to pursue charges in connection with the ransacking of the “Justice for Mike Brown” merchandise operation (seen above) is particularly sensitive since Lesley McSpadden, Brown’s mother, is named in a police report as one of the “attackers” who participated in the assault, which cops classified as a felony armed robbery.

Someone made a good point last night: All the pattern and practice nonsense regarding revenue generation and the fine and penalty stuff in the DOJ report is the doing of the STATE LEGISLATURE..... and has nothing to do with ferguson pd or the municipal courts.... but Holder wants to pin the legislators actions on Ferguson PD

That is a world class stupid move by Crump and Parks to file that wrongful death lawsuit. Any defense attorney worth their salt will completely dismantle and discredit Eric Holder's misleading DOJ Feguson report they and trying to use to bolster the lawsuit.

Michael Brown's Family Announces Plans To Pursue Wrongful Death Lawsuit
The Huffington Post | By Lilly Workneh
Posted: 03/05/2015 12:34 pm EST

The family of Michael Brown will file a civil lawsuit against the city of Ferguson, Missouri, and former Ferguson Police Officer Darren Wilson, an attorney for the family announced Thursday.

The news comes just one day after the U.S. Department of Justice officially announced its decision not to file federal charges against Wilson for fatally shooting Brown last July.

In a press conference, family attorney Anthony Gray expressed the family’s disappointment in the Justice Department’s decision and announced the next legal actions they plan to take.

Darren Wilson's lawyer nails it right here!

"I would never, ever challenge anyone's right to access to the courts," says Neil Bruntrager, one of the attorneys for Wilson. "I think the evidence is going to be the same there as we have in the state investigation and the federal investigation. People stay, 'Well, it's a different standard of proof.' Well, it's really not, it's a higher standard of proof than in a probable cause."

Bruntrager says while he expects that his client may be the first named party in the forthcoming civil suit, the real target will be the City of Ferguson since they have the "insurance and the deep pockets."

"They're going to have a real uphill climb," he says.

Thanks for the article link, kingkazpur :) I'm picturing Brown Sr. walking out of the hearing. So childish.

Rumpole, is this case gonna warrant a separate or sub-folder? Just saying' ;)

Something Eric Holder's Ferguson report completely omitted:
In December 2014, the St. Louis City Municipal Court also adopted a new rule to take into account violators’ ability to pay, when deciding the appropriate punishment for minor traffic and municipal offenses.
The St. Louis City Municipal Court has special dockets, payment plans, and alternatives to fines and incarceration, like community service, for people who cannot afford to pay. http://www.ktrs.com/st-louis-city-offer ... urt-dates/

The Gangsters of Ferguson
Darren Wilson was innocent. If only the city's cops offered their own citizens the same due process he received.

Worth a read but it can go so many different ways. If they refer to Wilson and the police as gang members, then it's a wonder what vicious circle caused the need for a gang to fight a gang. Maybe I'm hardened by past exposure to the thug culture of parts of good ol' Chicago so I don't always see some groups who purposely tribalize themselves as targeted victims.

Whoops! New story! DOJ has no legal authority to even make demands about the Ferguson municipal courts and supposed "racist" fines http://news.stlpublicradio.org/post/doj ... pal-courts

I don't think you have that exactly right KK :roll)

The article says: "The Justice Department has neither the authority nor the staffing to EXPAND its investigation of unconstitutional police and court practices from Ferguson to surrounding municipalities, legal experts say." (my bold). Looks like the DOJ has authority to harass Ferguson, but not surrounding cities.

And it should be called the DOIJ -- Department of InJustice. The way they treated George Zimmerman and Officer Wilson as guilty, even after proven innocent, was unconscionable. The two villains in those persecutions haven't been confronted with their perfidy: Obama & Holder. Both immediately sided with the 'black' version of those cases, with public statements of sympathy for supposed black victims, presupposing the guilt of the non-black 'defendants.' And Obama sent Holder out as his avenging angel to prosecute them in the court of public opinion.

In the Michael Brown incident, Holder had FBI eyewitness testimony four days after the shooting contradicting the 'hands-up' false narrative. And early forensic evidence of the blood trail on the ground, indicated Brown was moving toward the officer, not standing still. And evidence from blood in the police car showed some kind of struggle had preceded the final shooting. And of course, the video from the convenience store security tape showed that Brown was a physically menacing male.

Nevertheless Obama and Holder immediately sided with the 'hands-up' version: an unarmed teenager unjustly killed while surrendering to a white cop. Obama issued a statement sending his "prayers and deepest condolences" to the Brown family and the community, urging everyone to "remember this young man through reflection and understanding." He sent other representatives to the funeral, and Holder to commiserate with the family. These all implicit signs indicating Brown was unjustly shot.

All through the process, when they had evidence backing Officer Wilson, through the protests and rioting and arson up to and following the Grand Jury decision, they continued to be mute about what they knew, playing racial politics with the facts, and allowing Wilson to become a target of hate throughout the U.S.

The sad but evident truth is neither Obama nor Holder can be trusted to be objective when race is involved. That's why no one should accept this recent Ferguson Police Department report at face value-- because when it comes to black verses white, Obama's administration appears to be 2-faced. :38

Lafayette on stopping disruption: ‘Let president speak’
Alvin Benn 11:58 p.m. CST March 7, 2015

SELMA – Civil rights leader Bernard Lafayette was listening intently to President Barack Obama’s speech in Selma on Saturday afternoon when he began to hear what sounded like a drum beat and chants of “We want change, we want change.”

After several minutes, he rose from his chair and, accompanied by the Rev. Darryl Gray, a Southern Christian Leadership Conference friend, they made their way through a large crowd behind him to where the commotion came from.

Lafayette said one of the young demonstrators told him they were from Ferguson, Missouri, where a police officer fatally shot a young, unarmed black man last year — an event that led to weeks of violent protests.

“I asked them why they were making such a ruckus, and one told me they were upset that the president wasn’t addressing their concerns, but never really told me what they were,” said Lafayette.

(KMOV.com) – The Missouri Supreme Court announced Monday it is assigning a state judge to handle all pending and future cases in Ferguson until further notice.

Under the order, Appeals Court Judge Roy Richter will hear all of Ferguson’s pending and future cases. The order takes effect March 16.

Ferguson city manager John Shaw resigns
3 hours ago • By Valerie Schremp Hahn

FERGUSON • Ferguson city manager John Shaw, the city's most powerful official, resigned Tuesday night.

The Ferguson City Council voted on a “mutual separation agreement." All city council members were present at a meeting, and the vote was 7-0. The resignation is effective at midnight.

The city will conduct a nationwide search for the new city manager. Shaw made $120,000 a year.

Shaw, 39, was criticized in the Department of Justice report for praising Ferguson municipal judge Ron Brockmeyer as a money maker and revenue generator for the city. Brockmeyer resigned from the judge's position on Monday.
