2016 Six Nations Championship

From Wikepedia
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2016_Six_ ... ampionship

Quote:
The 2016 Six Nations Championship, known as the 2016 RBS 6 Nations because of the tournament's sponsorship by The Royal Bank of Scotland, will be the 17th series of the Six Nations Championship, the annual northern hemisphere rugby union championship.

It will be contested by England, France, defending champions Ireland, Italy, Scotland and Wales. Including the competition's previous incarnations as the Home Nations Championship and Five Nations Championship, it will be the 122nd edition of the tournament.

2016 marks the first year that the tournament will be broadcast across both the BBC and ITV in the United Kingdom, with the BBC broadcasting France, Scotland and Wales home matches and ITV screening England, Ireland and Italy home fixtures meaning in the first year of the split UK TV deal the BBC will cover 8 matches from the tournament and ITV will cover the other 7 matches this will alternate every year for the remainder of the deal to 2021. S4C in Wales will also broadcast every Wales game in Welsh for the remainder of this contract.

Call me a "Rugby Romantic".. but my dream rugby involves passing, running rugby.... until tackled and put to ground.. but then ball retention and another passage of running passing. etc etc Retaining possession. Certainly NOT kicking hard-won possession away?
I hate the aerial rugby ping-pong kicking.

Kicking should be a RARE thing... understandable when your own goal line threatened, to try a kick to relieve the pressure on the goal line..... but that's about it. Otherwise kicking for touch, or an up-and-under should be no more than an occasional tactical thing to try. Much better to RETAIN POSSESSION.
