Argentina 43 - Ireland 20

Argentina win

Argentina win.. EASILY.. despite what pommy commentators say :roll

The interference of refs was the only thing that brought the scores close for a period (closer than Ireland deserved) Argentina lead from the start and outplayed Ireland throughout.
IMO the score FLATTERS Ireland... again the game was spoiled by the Ref and match officials over-reacting, perhaps coincidentally BIASED in favor of Ireland, but the point is they should NOT be interfering as much as they do on either side.

The Semi-finals will be ALL Northern Hemisphere teams ( I predict Australia will thrash Scotland by many) :cool
..... again highlighting the difference that exists (still) in skill levels between North and South hemisphere rugby. The North seem hell bent on pushing more rules and more interference from Refs. IMO they are doomed unless they simply "Man-up" and start playing better rugby. (Also Stop producing/encouraging Refs who impose a pedantic presence on games)

NZ, Aust, SA (and now Argentina) play each other at Rugby every year.. often.. so a bit silly that the RWC is now reduced to a "rematch" of the "Rugby Championship" We already did that competition this year. :roll

I guess it's a re-do.. since Australia WON that competition just before RWC started.. hopefully NZ will win this time.

I agree Hoff... which makes sense since Southern Hemisphere teams are easily top world teams.

There is a chance it Could be Australia V South Africa, though on Form it should be NZ V Aust.. and NZ should win :cool

New Zealand Win

New Zealand Play in next week's final

The game was spoiled by too much Ref involvement (IMO)

A just result.. NZ deserved to win.

What a great game, Rumpole!

I had a strong feeling, when Carter made the drop goal at 45min, that it would be the difference in the outcome of a NZ win!

Funny how the ref couldn't find his whistle at the 80min mark .. that is the longest he let them play the entire game.

AllBlacks going to the finals ... YAY! :D

Heads up..... Time change

I just spotted that the next game from UK is telecast an hour LATER NZ time :eek

I figured it must be a "Daylight saving" thing :cool

Quote:
So the clocks go back an hour tonight. What time?

In October in the UK summertime officially ends, the clocks go back and we revert to GMT again. The mornings get lighter and evenings darker.

So for US people too.. since you dont do the clock thing until next week... the next Rugby game will be starting an hour later (your local time) than it did last night.

Sun 25
Argentina v Australia, Twickenham
16:00 local, 16:00 GMT

That means....

5:00AM (Monday) NZ Time

11:00 AM (Sunday) Texas Time

Same time for next weeks 3rd/4th play off on Friday, and the final on Saturday
USA time change is 2:00AM early Sunday 1st, so AFTER the RWC final on Saturday.

New Zealand v Australia: Rugby World Cup 2015 final preview
BBC.com | 29 October 2015

Image

New Zealand will aim to become the first team to retain the World Cup when they face Australia in Saturday's final.

Twickenham will host the match between the world's top-ranked sides at 16:00 GMT in front of 80,000 spectators.

It will be the first time New Zealand and Australia have met in the final.

The All Blacks start as favourites after losing only three of their 53 games since lifting the trophy on home soil in 2011.

Welshman Nigel Owens will referee the match, which will kick off between 00:00 and 05:00 local time on Sunday for a huge TV audience across Australia and New Zealand.

All Blacks captain Richie McCaw said: "I don't really care how the game is as long as we win."
[...]
At least two records - and possibly several more - will be broken on Saturday.

McCaw will extend his record for the most Test caps to 148 and team-mates Ma'a Nonu and Conrad Smith will play their 62nd Test as a centre partnership, another record.

Team-mate Dan Carter will seek to add his record points in Test rugby, which currently stands at 1,579.

New Zealand winger Julian Savea will hope to break the record for the most tries scored in a World Cup. He is currently level with compatriot Jonah Lomu and South Africa's Bryan Habana on eight.

And... so to THE big event tomorrow.... Fitting that the two TOP teams in the world are there for the final.... and it's the old "Trans-Tasman" rivalry NZ V Aust.

There is a LOT of banter around.. as there always is between NZ and Australia, for example, from Sky/Fox Sports "The Cup Runneth Over" (#TCRO)

"Australia get your sheep-suit on, because the Kiwis are gonna fuck you tomorrow"

And.. in lament for Northern Hemisphere rugby after such a poor performance generally..

"Six Nations" will now be known as "Shit Nations"

Thanks for introducing me to the Rugby World Cup, Rumpole. :)

After only two months, I love these guys. Been watching for a Dan Carter vid all week, and this seems to be the last one the AB have uploaded.

Media conference with Richie McCaw, Julian Savea and Ma'a Nonu
