Weather - Not looking GREAT (for Cricket)

My memories of annual Sydney Tests is... Rain delays and match abandoned.. seems like every year? :doh

I am SURE the many Sydney residents will be PLEASED to see some rain.. what with all the dry conditions and bush fires :roll

3rd Test, at Sydney, Jan 3-7 2020
(FRI 3/1 - 01:00 PM NZDT)

https://www.espncricinfo.com/series/194 ... -2019-2021

-----------------
Weather looks to be good for a start on time..
Sky is HAZY (smoke).
NZ have lost Bolt to injury, and apparently there is "illness" among some team members.
NZ have also dropped Southee? So that they can field 2 spinners. That seems NUTS to me since they already lost Bolt??
Mitchell Santner has been ruled out with illness
Kane Williamson and Henry Nicholls not on the field.
Glenn Phillips has been flown over as a replacement
Tom Latham is going to captain the team
Unfortunately... Taylor is well and will play :roll
-----------------------
Todd Astle, Will Somerville, Glenn Phillips and Matt Henry come in for sure. Jeet Raval may also play. Looks like Williamson, Nicholls, Santner, Southee and Boult are out for sure.

--------------------
Australia won the toss and elected to BAT

Day 2 Session 2
Australia 367/5 * (124 ov)

Marnus Labuschagne 185 (321) matches his highest score... on course to make a double century.
MADE THE DOUBLE CENTURY: 203 (346) :87
OUT 215 (363)

------------------
Day 4 Session 2: Australia likely to declare soon and set NZ a target (over 400)
Warner got a century
Marnus Labuschagne is on track to take the record for most runs in a 5-Test Season
Marnus Labuschagne OUT... Australia declares, lead by 420 runs
There is a PENALTY of 5 runs for "batsmen running on the wicket". Aleem Dar warned Labuschagne, but it was Warner penalized for the "second offense" I believe the 5 runs are gifted to NZ as they start their innings? Just heard the runs are added as "extras" to NZ 1st innings total. So Aust lead reduced to 415 (NZ TARGET 416)
51 Overs remain in the day (and 90 overs tomorrow) (Rain Permitting)

--------------------------
RESULT
Australia won by 279 runs
