Yeah
As I was implying... NZ could well adopt a "Richardson mode"... waste time "getting their eye in"...dib and dab at the start and score slowly..... THEN get out :roll

I am more in favor of a McCullum style... bat like hell from the outset.. maybe reach the target in 40 overs!! :cool
(Req RR 6.2)

Worker made 50

GH Worker(lhb) 50 (59), SR 84.74

If I was being picky... I would say he needs a couple more boundaries.... he needs to get his SR to 100+

SR 100%......Scoring a run a ball (on average) means you have "done your bit for the team score"..whatever score you go out for.

It's the old "Pee or get off the pot" theory :cool

Anybody can get out.... but it's OK so long as you dont WASTE balls faced with no score.... 10 off 10 balls is ok. 10 off 20 balls .. not so good.... it means that incoming batsmen have to make up scoring off the 10 balls you missed out on.

LOL! picky :roll

They had such a slow start, I thought we were going to see a WI repeat in NZ uniforms.

I really like the (visual) graphs. Amazing what a difference a good start makes.

Only downside is... it will be a short match.

Upside is ... fun watching while I can.

:)

You could watch a T20 in India when this ends :)
Well... catch a nap and then watch the T20

DANG!

Munro OUT!!
C Munro c Nurse b Williams 49 (36b 8x4 0x6) SR: 136.11

But a GREAT innings.... his SR was 136.11 :cool

Double Dang!!

Worker out
GH Worker b Nurse 57 (66b 8x4 0x6) SR: 86.36

A good innings, but...... in a sense he "wasted" 9 balls with no score. That is an over and a half.... which could be critical in a closer game

Then there is Taylor... 2 off 10 balls!!

Hopeless!!

ETA
Taylor SR 58%
Last 5 Ov RR = 3.6 :roll

NZ will LOSE if all players bat at Taylor's rate from here... even after a good start :doh

DANG... Williamson out.... shame it wasnt Taylor.

KS Williamson
b Holder 38 (45b 5x4 0x6) SR: 84.44

SR 84% is "respectable"... he only "wasted" 7 balls (1 over) :roll

Taylor has cost the team 17 balls so far... and the bastid is still going :doh

That's funny. ;)

No, Taylor is woke. He and Latham are just giving the people their money's worth.

Slow and easy. :cool

I was away... saw a wicket had fallen... but it's NOT Taylor!! :doh

Seriously...
Taylor gets praise for his style etc... but because he scores as slow as he does SOMEBODY has to make up for his failings.

If all players scored at Taylor's rate... NZ would lose.

Taylor takes advantage of his team mates... :roll

ETA
At Taylors rate (61%) NZ would only score 183 runs in 50 overs.

You know, when you put it that way, you're right.

The other teammates are having to pick up his slack.

"Pacing himself" is a great term. If this were a closer match I'd want him out too.

1st ODI - New Zealand v West Indies - NZ Win

West Indies 248/9
New Zealand 249/5 (46/50 ov, target 249)

New Zealand won by 5 wickets (with 24 balls remaining)

Taylor SR 64.47%
IF NZ all batted at that rate they would have scored 193 after full 50 overs... and LOST!!

3 Game series. New Zealand 1 V West Indies 0

OMG, that is so funny, hilarious! Your big brain is warped. LOL

btw, I tweeted a nice blurb (what you said) to the BlackCaps and someone replied to me:

"He's playing the required run rate" ...

WTF is a required run rate? LOL

Required run rate is shown as game progresses.... required from that point forward.

IF Taylor was playing to do that (and no more)... then it CONFIRMS that he is taking advantage of BETTER SR by his team mates.

Actually the REQUIRED run rate increased when Taylor got there...he batted below the required rate... so the twitterer is making shit up.

As I said at the outset...NZ were out to win in STYLE... put the boot into WI and win in 40 overs... only Taylor was NOT on that page.. it seems.

BTW
I am GLAD that Taylor missed out on making 50. :)
The winning run was a wide Taylor stranded on 49...... some "Poetic" justice in this world!!

Of course I know what RRR is... but I zoned out when I got a reply. :roll

Well, that was enjoyable and I do plan to watch the T20.

Coffee, biscuits and T20 in the morning. Can't think of another thing I'll need. :cool

Thanks for all the mansplaing.
