By way of "Cognitive Dissonance" resolution.....

I don't mind the Poms making a big score... provided the Australian batsmen are up to matching (and bettering) it :roll

In fact.... a high scoring game is preferable... ODI is supposed to be about batting... scoring boundaries etc as a spectacle.

When a game involves a relatively low target to make... the side batting second often "play safe" and so score at an equally mediocre rate. I usually opine that the side batting second should go all out to make the target in way less than 50 overs.. and so provide the "batting spectacle" that makes the game exciting :)

England 55/0 * (7/50 ov) RR 7.85

As things stand... this is looking like a 350+ game... perhaps 400+ but.....

Cricket is a funny old game :roll

GOOD! I was just about to post that they need to get ROY out.
He's the only one hitting boundaries.
These ones and dot balls are okay. ;)

Ones are not so good if they are getting them most balls.. and not taking any risks.

Boundaries at least involve some risk of a miss-hit.... and a catch.

How can you watch a movie when there's all this cricket excitement going on all at once?

IDK why, but that just pisses me off that Warner can't stay in longer than that.
I used to think he is hot or cold, but he seems like a "reckless" batter. :roll
Usually I go with the flow of the game, but UGH ... beginning to think he is overrated for ODI.

It is Warner's style/job to be a "Big hitter" at the start of the innings.... same as McCullum.

It does not work every time. :roll

And.... as per previous discussions.. Warner did MORE than "his bit for the team"... SR: 136.36

DA Warner b Curran 15 (11b 2x4 0x6) SR: 136.36

15 off 11 balls... is better than 15 off 30 balls.... sharing 1/2 the balls over 10 overs.

Australia have had a bit of a collapse - 8 wickets down :doh

With Australia having just 2 wickets remaining....England do have the odds in their favor.....But....

It does at least make for an exciting finish... if Australia can do it. :95

Australia require another 45 runs off 48 balls

Would NOT be a problem... if Australia were not down to 2 wickets!!

ONE big over (a few boundaries) would lower the tension :cool

---------------
A BOUNDARY (4) :87
Australia need 34 runs off 37 balls
---------------
Jake Ball leaves the field.... unwell... and so he will NOT be bowling his remaining 2 overs.
That is likely in Australia's favor. England will need to bowl a part-time bowler (Root?) for 2 overs
-----------
Australia need 32 runs off 30 balls
-----------
Jake Ball is back, and bowling?
-----------
A boundary (4) :87
-----------
Australia need 25 runs off 24 balls
-----------
Fuck! Zampa bowled. Aust 1 wicket left :doh
-----------
Australia need 24 runs off 18 balls
-----------
A boundary (4) :87
Australia need 20 runs off 15 balls
----------
A boundary (6) :91
Australia need 14 runs off 14 balls
---------
Australia need 13 runs off 12 balls
---------
FUCKIT!!!!
Paine out... that's it!!
England win by 12 runs

Curran gets a Michelle
