First helmet wicket I've seen. :roll

ETA:

fyi, this is why I like the 8 overs score x 3 formula ... more realistic and it was your first choice when we started calculating T20I.

8 overs 84x3 = 252

12 overs 152x2 = 304

:)

You are SO right!. There WAS luck in NZ innings ... wild throws at wicket, dropped balls, Taylor not out. ;)

Innings Break

New Zealand 243/6 (20 ov) RR 12.15

Target for Australia 244
Req RR 12.2

This will be exciting to last ball... either side could win, or....

Wickets will fall early ===> Australian batting collapse.

BTW
I am "so old" I can remember when 243 was a good score in an ODI (50 over game) :cool
In fact, when Rigor Richarson was opening for NZ... I think they would struggle to make 240 in 50 overs :roll

I looked in the Cricinfo comments also googled, and I'm missing too much real time play ... searching.

Please tell me what a "maiden 50 in T20I" means. THX. :)
---------------
ETA:
Both calculations 8 and 12 overs, show Australia is gonna hit their target, big time!

Yeah, when Maxwell came up to bat, I thought "Oh no." :roll

"Maiden" in this context means FIRST

So whoever it was scored his first ever 50 (in T20I cricket)
-----
In case you missed the explanation....

Wheeler bowled a second full toss above waist high.. which is illegal.. declared a no-ball.. and so its a run and a "free hit" and doing it twice means you are BANNED from bowling. That is why Bolt bowled the remainder of Wheelers part over. This also means Bolt can not now bowl his own (last over) since he has bowled in (max) 4 overs.

Thank you. I should have figured that out.

I can't remember which game I said was the most exciting I've seen (it was this year), but THIS ONE is the one.

Never have seen a bowler taken out mid-over.

6th Tri-series T20I - New Zealand v England

Sun Feb 18, 2018 (20 ovs) 19:00 local (06:00 GMT)
Seddon Park, Hamilton LIVE N

Toss: New Zealand win and opt to bowl

Livescorecard
http://www.espncricinfo.com/series/1088 ... y-2017-18/

If New Zealand win.. they face Australia in the Final - On Wednesday.

If England win... points will be same for NZ and England and it will be down to NRR (Net Run Rate)
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Net_run_rate

ESPN cite NRR Math example. (If England win)
IF Eng bat First and score 180, they need to keep NZ below 160
If NZ bat first, and score 180, Eng need to make the target in 18 overs.

Hamilton Weather

A cloudy evening. Chance shower, but not enough to dampen the pitch or spectator spirits.

I'm READY :69

AND I am not very chatty tonight, but won't miss a play.

I finally got to see a coin toss, ESPN shows it since it is SkySports (and I was early watching).

Please point out any odd, rare things that happen, like the bowler taken out mid-over the other night.

Thx. :)

K
Go your "not chatty" :roll

As mentioned... NZ win makes it simple.. they advance to final. (On Wednesday)

IF England win... we could be mired in "difficult sums!!".. (NRR calculation...worse than a DL calculation)

Basically England have to not only WIN... but demolish NZ... so... IMO England need to go like hell from the start... look to score 200+ at least. Then... they still have to restrict NZ well below the target (and/or take LOTS of NZ wickets)

-----
Even as a NZ fan... it would be nice to see England get a big total so that the game remains exciting well into NZ's batting innings. :)

So far, so good...
England 22/0 * (2.0/20 ov) RR 11.00

Finally, they are playing Stereophonics' song!

Enough of that gal singing ... the entire past two matches. :stamp

:)
----------------------
So after 12 overs 117x2 = 234

-------------------
ETA: I don't know who the gal is. Have noticed same song over and over. Probably someone popular I don't know about. ;)

It really bothered me the other night, thought about finding out who music director at Eden Park is. I was probably in a mood. LOL

Not sure what "gal" you are referring to?

England not likely to make 200.. as it looks now.

Innings Break

England 194/7 (20/20 ov) RR 9.7

Target for New Zealand 195
Req RR 9.75

IF England win they need to also restrict NZ to "about 20 runs less" ===> 175 RR 8.75

I DON'T think NZ are doing this right :doh

Rigor Richardson from the outset said NZ should just play for 175 Target... not 195
And apart from Munro... they are batting too slow to make 195!!!

Typical of Richardson... go slow..... but the problem with batting slowly.. with a view to maybe upping RR later.. is it never happens.. and hardly the style they will need V Australia.. even if they scrape thru!!

If Taylor is in soon... it could get even worse for NZ

I'll go so far as to say NZ DESERVE to miss out on the 175 :roll

NZ CERTAINLY deserve to lose the game!! (get 175 but not 195)

OMG! :doh

Agree with you! Yeah, I have been listening to commentators all night. :roll

I just now, officially jumped OFF the Ross Taylor bandwagon, and landed on my feet. ;)
