Latham not only scored a Duck...
..but he wasted 11 balls faced (2 overs) getting there. He needs to be dropped from side... go fishing with Taylor :cool

I never thought about it that way .. wasting almost 2 ov. :roll

Not only did the RR go way down but the WASP prediction went down from 243 to 228.

Now to get this partnership going and making it exciting.

The SA quintet-wicket bowler scares me.

My earlier "rule" was silly :doh

IF we are going to do a calc at overs less than half way... it needs to be more than 2x :roll

Perhaps 3x 15 ov score?

Taylor just went out... no surprises there :doh

Not really silly considering how this innings is going. :roll

Well, if we were going 2x12 with 20 ovs then it would need to be 2x18/19 for 34 ov.

The only 3x that I have seen work is your 3x20 ov. score in 50 ov.

I blinked and missed Taylor at bat. :roll

-------------------------------------

Okay, I'll go with that prediction.

Taylor made 1 run and only wasted half an over...

I'll look at 2x 18 or 19 or 20.

I dont think NZ will make 237

I don't think they will make that either but I always have hope for a big turnaround (like Southee last night) or a miracle.

I think if we used a dartboard we may get closer to NZ final score. ;)

Check out the 2x rule:

End of over 18 New Zealand 93/4===> 186

End of over 19 (maiden) New Zealand 93/4 ===> 186

End of over 20 New Zealand 99/4===> 198

Thanks for that info. Interesting.

I'm just listening since I am stalking you at CTH, but fixing to shut that window/tab off and concentrate on THIS match.

NZ INNINGS DONE

New Zealand 207/7 (34/34 ov) RR 6.08

NZ did well to break 200. .. and as I said, the SA innings will be better with a higher target. They should still do it... easily. :cool

Target for SA 208
Req. RR 6.12

INNINGS BREAK

What a shame to have a partnership like that going with such momentum and play is over.

Just noticed the match on Wednesday starts earlier, also the three Test matches are early... 1:00p for you and 6:00p for me. Makes a huge difference.

Latham needs to sit out a few matches, imo.

This is a comment on espncricketinfo:

"This calendar year in ODIs Latham has scored 9 runs, from 34 balls in 4 innings, at an average of 2.25, with a strike-rate of 26.5.....it's fair to say he's out of form."

Yes, that is much more realistic than using 25.

I hope this is not a kiss of death, but "how 'bout my boy Taylor?" ;)
