1000 Test Runs and 100 Test Wickets - Philander

As mentioned during the last test..

Vernon Philander was just a few RUNS (2) short of making the milestone for "All-rounders"..

1000 runs batting, and 100 wickets taken as a bowler.

Philander just reached the milestone.

Prior to this test , his stats: 161 Wickets, and 998 runs.

Philander 7 (15) ====> Test Career 1005*

"The skies just opened and it's pissing down!!"
If Hamilton weather is anything like Auckland... these pussy cricketers will need Gum-boots after lunch!!

Covers still on as 2nd session due to start....Umpires "Inspecting the pitch"... I assume they READ my weather update? :cool

Looks like there will be a delay starting after lunch :doh

ETA
15 minute delay in start. Due 1:55 PM

ETA2
I UNDERSTAND that play is lost when it's raining and in the aftermath with wet outfield etc but.....

These SILLY delays of 15 mins, half an hour are just CRAP!!

NOTHING changes in the 15 minutes... they are just wasting (valuable) time.

It would be NICE to only play on sunny days with the ground completely dry, but THAT is often not the reality in places like NZ (and UK I might add). These pussy cricketers need to get on with the game. If they slip over and their balls gets wet... TOUGH!!

I HOPE my boy de Kock 71 (92) can make a century here, but he is running out of partners.

As I have said... I am NOT unhappy to see wickets falling... whichever side wins NEEDS 20 opposition wickets to fall.. and they WILL NOT have 5 full days of play to achieve that in.

SA Total is "respectable". Anything over 250 would have done

OMG that's funny. :lol

Texas has been in the 80s for two weeks, just sayin' ;)

So if this is it for the day, they got in another 41 overs today.

Well, this is good. Was afraid it would be another short day like yesterday.

I'm hoping de Kock gets a century also.
Then they can get him out. ;)

thanks for update.

SA do have what is supposed to be GREAT batting line-up :roll
You were right about this. Looking at their run totals across the board on espncric and they've got more than two batsmen in double digits ... ;)

They need to move de Kock :cool and "hitting machine Rabada" UP in the lineup, imo. :roll

It is NOT wise to mess about with batting orders. :cool

de Kock and Philander are in their best spots. All the SA batsmen are in correct spots.

Oh, okay. I did not know the first part. I thought they moved them around all the time.

This is why I need you as a mentor. ;)

I know there are so many aspects to every single detail of the game that I know nothing about, and you do.

Thanks.
