Very strange match but exciting. Early morning so it COULD have been the coffee high. :N14

I like watching Dhoni. He needed one run for a 50, forever. Got it finally and OUT next ball. His remaining partner got 6 4 6 4 1 in one over and then got out. India had 70 runs in five overs. England had six wickets in three overs and petered out. There for a while it looked like England had a chance ... well, they DID in fact.

There is a ONE OFF Test India v Bangladesh
(Not worth a separate thread)

Thu Feb 9 - Mon Feb 13 09:30 local (04:00 GMT | 17:00 NZDT) (Texas Time 10:00PM)
Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Uppal, Hyderabad LIVE

Livescorecard

India have won the toss and opt to bat

The pitch expected to be good for batting for the first two or three days and then will break up to bring the spinners into play

Test India v Bangladesh - Day 3

I think the result is inevitable. Bangladesh will never make 687 runs and that is only to match a 1st innings total.

India should be able to bowl them out twice...

Bangladesh may resist for a while, but I can imagine a collapse and India bowling them out twice today :cool

I tried to get "into it" tonight but it's just not working for me.

Of course I want to see if they can get 30 ov in before lunch.
It's gonna be as close and India's first day.

I think I have confused Kohli (Indian captain) with Dhoni (former captain).
They are both big stars in India and fun to watch.

Can't help but feel bad for Bangladesh with such a huge target in first innings.

I am a bit bored with this game... In the past I have mainly followed games with NZ and Australia playng.

This is a chance for Bangladesh to play a top team, and as such just batting and surviving now is a good showing.

However, the game will drag on to an inevitable win for India.. it would be a bit more exciting IF wickets fall like flies.. but not so noce for Bangladesh.

Test India v Bangladesh - Day 4

Bangladesh all out

India 687/6d
Bangladesh 388/10 (127.5 ov)

Bangladesh trail by 299 runs on the 1st innings

India have decided to NOT enforce the follow on??

THIS seems NUTS to me. India HAVE to bowl Ban out again.. That took them a day and a half last time (128 overs), and Ban may well play with a bit more caution and could survive even longer (deteriorating wicket not withstanding). India NEED as much time as possible to bowl Ban out. India SHOULD be able to bowl BAN out a second time (on deteriorating wicket) for well under 300 runs, but IF worse came to worse and India needed a few runs to win.. they are capable of bashing a few in quick time, even when wicket at it's worst on 5th day.

India faced 1 over.. then lunch. How many friggin extra runs do India want? Another 100? They dont get another chance after this innings, so any declaration likely to err on the side of caution. They may welll bat all of the next session and half of final session and bowl at BAN for just the last hour today. IF they don't get any wickets in that session.. BAN have a good show of "saving" the game by simply batting to survive tomorrow. Get Rigor Richardson on the phone as a consultant :cool

IF India had enforced the follow on... there would have been an "innings break" and lunch and so IF the concern was "giving bowlers a break".. then they already had about a friggin hour. I HOPE Bangladesh do survive and score a draw! :roll

India have declared at tea, setting Bangladesh 459 to win in four sessions.

India 687/6d & 159/4d
Bangladesh 388 & 2nd Innings

Bangladesh require 459 runs with 10 wickets remaining

STUMPS - Day 4

India 687/6d & 159/4d
Bangladesh 388 & 103/3 (35.0 ov)

Bangladesh require another 356 runs with 7 wickets remaining

The runs are totally IRRELEVANT!!!

Bangladesh started this innings needing to SURVIVE 4 sessions. They have already lost 3 wickets in the 1st session.. which is not good. Naturally the ability to survive will decrease as players further down the batting order come to the crease, and this is a 5 day old pitch (in India) and so batting is likely to get harder on a deteriorating pitch.
Still.. hope springs eternal, (and cricket is a funny old game) Bangladesh still have a chance of saving the match (getting a draw).. they need to take it a session at a time.. strive to NOT LOSE any (or only 1 or 2) wickets

With only 1 wicket remaining... play will continue for half an hour beyond scheduled Tea Time

Game over

Bangladesh all out

India 687/6d & 159/4d
Bangladesh 388 & 250/10 (100.3 ov)
India won by 208 runs

In the end I guess Bangladesh did well to survive to tea time on day 5, but I really did hope they would survive a bit longer and save the game
