Yes... those two games but actually 4 games if you want to watch SA Test, and follow Bagladesh V Zimbabwe... I have been ignoring those  Jan 15, 2016 - 1st T20I at Sheikh Abu Naser Stadium, Khulna Bangladesh V Zimbabwe Match scheduled to begin at 15:00 local time (09:00 GMT | 22:00 NZDT) There is a test match in South Africa as well... but that is actually early hours of Texas Thusday and friday (day 2) and 3 more days.. as I posted Jan 14-18, 2016 - 3rd Test at New Wanderers Stadium, Johannesburg South Africa V England Match scheduled to begin at 10:30 local time (08:30 GMT | 21:30 NZDT) |

Thank you. Nah, think I will pass on the Ban/Zim match  Yes, saw the SA post (thx) and I'll pick up on that one after waking up.. hope I see an exciting end, lol. Really want to see BOTH I asked about. I'll "get into" the Aus/Ind ODI and watch NZ T20 at the same time later since I have my tablet back working, easy-peasy.

As an aside: The commentator you hear "Grant Nisbett" is very much the last of "old school" commentators. Trained as commentators, then specialized in a sport.. as opposed to ex-players who then acquire some commentating skills. Back in the day when it was State TV.... TVNZ.... they used professional, trained commentators.. often specialing in sport though. Ex-players were more extra comments men. A young Grant Nisbett I recall was under-study to the NZ voice of Rugby "Keith Quinn", but unlike Quinn.. he also did cricket. He did both sports well.. I believed he was poached from TVNZ and went to Sky. Most Countries nowadays have a full commentary team comprised of ex-players in a particular sport (cricket). Nisbett is doing well to hang in there despite not playing the game. Note "Smithy" as ex-nz-wicket-keeper often leads the cricket commentary team on Sky.. and Smithy also knows enough to take the lead in Rugby commentary. He and Grant Nisbett are the only two I can think of who manage to pull that double off. Jeff Wilson PLAYED both Rugby and cricket for NZ.. at top level .. and he commentates rugby these days.. but not seen/heard him doing cricket? If he has it is not a regular thing. |

October 18, 2016 Well, for those who are still unaware of the use of the glass-like object sported by the Australian umpire Oxenford, it is called a 'forearm shield'. The forearm shield is used as a protection to prevent the umpire from shots that are aimed towards the umpire. This protective device is made of perspex and worn on the non-signalling arm.  Bruce Oxenford during England-Sri Lanka ODI Spectators might have also witnessed umpire John Ward wearing a helmet during India's ODI matches in Australia earlier this year. He too used it for protection. In December last year, Australia's 53-year-old Ward was injured while officiating a Ranji Trophy match after being struck on the head by a shot played by Punjab's Brainder Sran. The Pakistan men's team, who were in Nelson when the quake occurred, reported being a little shaken by the experience, but will prepare for Thursday's Test as usual. "Preparations for the Test are going ahead, but we are continuing to monitor the situation," a New Zealand Cricket spokesperson said. "It's just a case of staying in touch with authorities." Both teams arrived in Christchurch on Monday and have training sessions scheduled for Tuesday. The area continued to be hit by aftershocks, however. It would be a shame if Test was cancelled... ChCh already LOST what was the traditional venue for Cricket during the BIG earthquake. Quote: Lancaster Park, renamed Jade Stadium and now known as AMI Stadium is a sports stadium in Waltham, a suburb of Christchurch in New Zealand. The stadium is currently closed due to damage sustained in the February 2011 Christchurch earthquake. The Hadlee Stand has been demolished and the fate of the rest of the stadium is unresolved. This latest quake is some distance north of Christchurch city.. as far as I know? |

Thanks. I didn't even think to look back at how the 2011 earthquake affected the cricket grounds back then. I can't believe the after-shocks will continue for a week. Surely they have ICC regulation rules on what to do if there is a tremor that impacts play. I told C tonight about the two upcoming tests. He asked what time & I told him 3:30. He commented about that's a lot of nights to stay up. I think the recent IndiavNZ ODIs started at 3:30AM. I told him "NO, 3:30PM". So excited to watch during the daytime. |

I think if there is likelihood of pitch tremors.. the spinners will come into there own? These pussy cricketers get all aerated about a 2" crack on a good length.. it will separate the men from the boys if a foot-wide chasm opens up down the length of the pitch

Taylor did not communicate with his team - Brendon McCullum Sidharth Monga  Brendon McCullum has written of the uninspiring leadership of Ross Taylor and how the tension and mistrust during his captaincy left the New Zealand team on the verge of imploding. In his book Declared, McCullum has devoted a whole chapter to "the coup that wasn't", describing in some detail Taylor's failings as a captain and the circumstances that led to the souring of their relationship, and clarifying that he had no role to play in the axing of Taylor as captain. The captaincy switch from Taylor to McCullum in 2012 is one of the more bitter chapters in New Zealand's cricket history. The timing of the fresh revelations could not have been worse, with Taylor struggling for form on New Zealand's tour of India. The team, too, has had a tough tour, having lost all three Tests and the first ODI by the time the book was released on October 20. Since then, they won one ODI and lost another, with Taylor's drop of Virat Kohli in the third ODI costing New Zealand 148 runs and arguably the match.
