The restart is at 4.45pm, 27 overs a side now.

NZ will only have 8 overs to add to their score... and the 3 wickets (or more) down will factor in to the DL calculation of a WI Target

NZ may well pay the penalty for a crap and slow start. Kinda bears out what I always say... sides should "make hay while the sun shines"... Go for runs from the start.. as opposed to assuming they can up the run rate later. As we see here... there may not be a "later" :roll

When play starts... NZ need to bat like hell... in the style that players bat in the last 8 overs of a T20 game.

SHAME we have Taylor and Latham at the wicket.... it would probably be better if both of them get out... at least bat like hell and no big deal if they are out. Wasting balls without scoring will be a sin.

ETA
NOPE!!!!! Rain again.... again :wall

This game could be abandoned.......
A "Match" is 20 overs minimum... so it could be NZ bat just 1 more over?

Yeah... the BASH game works .... or it doesn't.

That's why I dont like T20 cricket at all, and T20 players are picked as bashers.. and pitches and field restrictions favor the batsmen.

Tauranga Weather - BLACKCAPS v WEST INDIES
A few showers in the area, but they should stay outside the boundary.

This COULD be wishful thinking?

There is only one thing in the Cricketing world WORSE than a T20 game... and that's a T20 game with rain!! :wall

Well, I'm gonna think wishful, hopeful ... cause I want to see a T20 game tonight. ;)

Ross Taylor won't be in action on Monday; he was only picked for the first T20I. Williamson (C) will take his place.

This is okay. I like Williamson. :)

I have live pre-game.

Weather looks ok....... ish

But it could well be a game shortened by rain.

ALL THE MORE REASON... to bat like hell from the outset :cool

The chance of rain delays makes a bit more sense of choosing to bat second.... at least the side batting second will KNOW what they need to get... and how many overs they actually have. If their own innings is shorter than NZ... they will KNOW at each over what the DL target is :)

Great news, I just read the Summary ( pitch condition :) trivia ;) ) and it said possible rain late tonight.

Here we go, with NZ batting.

Guptill better be hot and not cold. Munro is suppose to be the new McCullum. Williams is Williams. Phillips is a great wicket keeper, IMO, but I haven't watched his batting.

That's the top 4.

Ground satff covering pitch..... drizzle getting heavier... Start delayed?

ETA
Covers off

Official start time 7:20 pm

Apparently they can lose 30 mins before reducing overs.... so it's still 20 overs :)
