Carpenter asked what the most secure method would be. Parrinello testified that having manpower to secure the scene.

Parrinello testified that the scene would be the whole house and the back yard.

Carpenter asked Parrinello what the scene was in this case. He said it would be the house and the front of the home. Parrinello said the side door, too.

Parrinello said he didn't investigate this case. "I just collected evidence," Parrinello testified.

Carpenter asked if there was a crime scene log. Parrinello testified that he didn't do one.

Parrinello said a crime scene would be secured by making sure no one enters into the crime scene and to make a log of whoever does enter the crime scene.

Parrinello said contamination "could jeopardize a case."

Cheryl Carpenter asked what contamination is. Parrinello said it could be a number of things. He said contamination could happen at a crime scene that is not properly secured.

Parrinello testified that the officer in charge of the case was giving him orders on what to do.

Cheryl Carpenter is asking who was directing Parrinello on what to do.

Parrinello testified that he never processed the crime scene with another evidence tech.

Parrinello testified he was not at the scene on Nov. 2.

He said he was one of the crime scene investigator on this case. Parrinello testified that he processed some evidence at the scene.

Parrinello testified that he dusted the doors at Wafer's home for fingerprints on Nov. 11. (NINE days later!!!)

Cheryl Carpenter is asking Parrinello about a picture he took of a footprint on top of an AC unit.

Parrinello said there was transfer from deer meat at the Wayne County Medical Examiner's Office.

Parrinello testified that he had to go take maggots out of McBride's clothing.

Parrinello testified that he collected the screen from Wafer's home.

"I collected it on the 11th from his basement," Parrinello said. Same with the frame, he said.

Parrinello testified that, on Nov. 12, he processed the storm door frame and the screen. He said he dusted them and collected blood and tissue samples.

Parrinello said he lifted something with fingerprint dust from a front metal door.


"Yes," Parrinello said.

"Rain can wash away fingerprints," Carpenter said.

Parrinello testified that he dusted the doors at Wafer's home for fingerprints on Nov. 11.

Nov. 7 Parrinello testified he went back to the tow yard to collect the possible blood samples.


Nov. 5 he testified he went back to the tow yard and photographed McBride's car. He said he was not advised to photograph the car on Nov. 4.

He also photographed McBride's clothing Nov. 4, Parrinello testified.

Parrinello said he went on Nov. 4 to the tow yard, where McBride's cell phone was seized from her car.

Parrinello said Nov. 4, 2013 was the first date he did investigative work on this case.

Carpenter asked if it's important to collect all of the evidence as quickly as possible. Parrinello said he disagrees.

Isn't it better to do it as soon as an incident occurred, Carpenter asked?

Parrinello said it would be wise to collect it if it's there.

"I have never seen these," Parrinello said of the clasps.

Carpenter handed Parrinello clasps. She asked him if he recognized those as the clasps found on Wafer's front porch when he went back to the home.

Bynes testified that he and McBride talked by phone and texted.

He said he talked to McBride on Oct. 31, 2013 and asked her to pick him up.

Bynes testified that he worked with McBride. He knew her has "Nisha."

Davonta Bynes is testifying.

Assistant Wayne County Prosecutor Danielle Hagaman-Clark said she takes responsibility for that. She said McBride's family was unaware that photographs from the crime scene would be shown. Some showed McBride laying on the porch after she was shot.

Hathaway said people in the audience have been making inappropriate comments and leaving the courtroom.

Hi, SJ. The defense has been asking to be allowed to show information from some of Renisha McBride's social media accounts. It sounds like there was something else Carpenter wanted to be allowed to show.
